WorldPop Datasets

WorldPop Datasets are raster-based socio-economic and demographic datasets for Africa, Asia, Central and South America that can be used to support development, environmental, and health applications. The methods used to create both the datasets and the associated metadata are designed with full open access and operational application in mind. They are transparent, shareable, and fully documented. WorldPop Datasets are currently licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License and have been downloaded and used by researchers and policy makers from various countries (including 95% of the ones mapped by the project, resulting in valuable feedback and improvements to products), Government Agencies, and International Organizations and Foundations. GEO Members Government Agencies and GEO Participating Organizations using WorldPop Datasets include: SNLS (Guinea Bissau), PNDP (Cameroon), NEMA (Nigeria), CAPMAS (Egypt), KDUDP (India), UNEP, FAO, and WHO.
