52?North Sensor Observation Service

The 52?North Sensor Observation Service implements the OGC Sensor Observation Service (SOS) version 1.0.0 by providing the core operations GetCapabilities, DescribeSensor and GetObservation. Additionally, the transactional profile with its operations RegisterSensor and InsertObservation is supported. Furthermore, the GetFeatureOfInterest and GetResult operations are also supported. The 52N SOS implementation is based upon a 3-tier architecture consisting of a web interface layer, a business logic layer and a data layer. The architecture allows for a flexible customization to already existing databases and for adding extensions for additional operations or operation parameters. The implementation is written in Java and available as Open Source under GPL.
