Global Terrestrial Network for River Discharge (GetCapabilities for Sensor Observation Service)

GTN-R is a component of the Global Terrestrial Network - Hydrology supported by Global Climate Observing System (GCOS) and the Hydrology and Water Resources Programme of the WMO. Core component is the GCOS Baseline River Network of gauging stations located near to the mouth of the World's major rivers. In cooperation with the Hydrological Services of the WMO Member States this network is constantly being extended. As a first step the mean daily river discharge data for 245 GTN-R stations are provided to the public via the GEOSS Portal for the period 2000-2012. The discharge data for the GTN-R stations are provided via Sensor Observation Service (SOS). The "GetCapabilities" request returns an XML service description that contains the information to build more sophisticated requests.
