EnviroAtlas - Availability of Local Food by 12-Digit HUC for the Conterminous United States

This EnviroAtlas dataset contains a count of the number of local farmers markets within each subwatershed (12-digit HUC) based on their location given within the USDA National Farmers Market Directory (https://www.ams.usda.gov/local-food-directories/farmersmarkets). This data has been processed from the original directory to remove duplicate locations, as well as a small subsample (25 markets) were corrected by hand in order avoid duplication across block group boundaries. This dataset is contemporary as of 5/20/2016, and downloaded from the USDA Agricultural Marketing Service (AMS) website. This dataset was produced by the US EPA to support research and online mapping activities related to EnviroAtlas. EnviroAtlas (https://www.epa.gov/enviroatlas) allows the user to interact with a web-based, easy-to-use, mapping application to view and analyze multiple ecosystem services for the contiguous United States. The dataset is available as downloadable data (https://edg.epa.gov/data/Public/ORD/EnviroAtlas) or as an EnviroAtlas map service.
