The Korea-Global Ocean Observing System

South Korea operates K-GOOS (The Korea - Global Ocean Observing System), which is the information hub of the oceanographic observations. Based on marine GIS information, K-GOOS provides the eight kinds of daily ocean information including Tide Height, Tidal Current, Water Temperature, Salinity, Wave Height, Temperature, Atmospheric, Wind Speed & Direction. It also provides daily ocean information including current chart of the East Sea as well as providing search system of the meta-data on domestic and global observation/forecast connected with NEAR-GOOS, m-GEOSS, GLOSS, I-GOOS, and KHOA (Korea Hydrographic and Oceanographic Administration). With the sharing of the ocean observation information, K-GOOS will contribute the international cooperation in global issue as well as realizing the information network that balances human wellbeing and environment of the earth.
