OceansMap: MARACOOS Data Portal

Based on your feedback and in Partnership with ASA, MARACOOS has launched a new data portal! The new portal integrates both observation and model data, allows users to set time frames and areas of interest, visualizes all available data, including 3D model data, provides interactive time-series and profile plots, and allows users to perform model-observation comparisons

purpose The MARACOOS mission - to seek, integrate, share and apply knowledge and understanding of our coastal ocean - will be realized through scientific expertise, operational monitoring, and information product delivery in support of the safe and informed use of the MAB’s marine and coastal resources. The five regional themes will shape the work plans for the ocean observatory data and model information generation - outputs will be incorporated into appropriate stakeholder engagement, outreach, and education activities with targeted expansion. The continued evolution of MARACOOS towards its full potential depends on effective leveraging of partnerships supported by additional funding. While entrepreneurialism is a familiar approach in the MAB ocean observing community, sustained partnerships are required to enhance the capabilities and effectiveness of the System. To that end, newly intensified and focused efforts will be made to develop partnerships that tailor MARACOOS products to their specific needs.
