Information system for disaster risk reduction in the andean community

The Andean Information System for Disaster Prevention and Relief ? SIAPAD for its initials in Spanish- is an internet access point that primarily provides tools for data and information discovery and visualization (depending on the institutional policies) to support decision making during the different stages of disaster risk management: prevention, mitigation, preparation and relief. SIAPAD is an initiative of the CAPRADE (Andean Committee for Disaster Prevention and Relief), carried out through the project "Capacity Building for Disaster Prevention in the Andean Community" (PREDECAN) which is funded by the Andean Community General Secretariat (SGCAN) and the European Union.
