Incidence of retrenchment refers to the number of retrenched employees per 1,000 employees. Retrenchment refers to the termination of permanent employees due to redundancy and early termination of term contract employees due to redundancy.

Before 2006, the Labour Market Survey covers private sector establishments each with at least 25 employees. From 2006 onwards, the survey also covers the public sector.

Figures are rounded to one decimal place.
