Classification of aquatic ecosystems in the Murray-Darling Basin: 2017 update

This is the 2017 update to the classification of aquatic ecosystems in the Murray-Darling. It is a compilation of river, lake, wetland, riparian and floodplain mapping for the Murray-Darling Basin using the best available mapping from state jurisdictions (South Australia, Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales), Australian Government agencies and other organisations. Data sources range in scale from 1:,000 to 1:250,000. The interim Australian National Aquatic Ecosystem (ANAE) classification framework has been applied to all wetland polygons varying by system type (lacustrine, palustrine, riverine, estuarine and springs. Attribute values and final wetland types are included in the attribute data table.
